Jennifer Beals

Jennifer Beals gained popularity in the ’80s. She was born in Chicago in 1963 and grew up there. Her father is a grocery store owner and her mother is an elementary school teacher. Because she participated in the production of “The Fiddler on the Roof” as a high school student and volunteered in the theater, she decided to become an actor.

She debuted in the 1980 film My Bodyguard and received wide acclaim for her role in the 1983 romantic drama Flashdance. It was known that she deferred a term at Yale University while studying to earn her degree in American Literature so she could film Flashdance.
