Graham Elliott – Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Being surrounded by unhealthy ingredients, fatty foods, and sumptuous dishes, you may find it difficult to believe that a chef can lose weight. Following his culinary degree, Graham Elliott made a household name appearing in Iron Chef, Top Chef Masters, and even opened his eponymous French restaurant. But despite a promising and lucrative career, the TV chef was at risk of serious health problems and even early death because of his 400-lb frame.

He became a perfect candidate for a duodenal switch — however, it wasn’t the best choice for the celebrity chef because the surgery could interfere with his ability to process dietary fats. Instead, he underwent a gastric sleeve to reduce his stomach to the size and shape of a small banana, which made his weight fall below 250lbs. He has to maintain his weight by following a strict diet which includes salmon, chicken, salad, bread, and pasta. His diet forbids beer and soda.
