Deborah Voigt –  gastric Bypass Surgery

There is no doubt that Deborah Voigt is the greatest dramatic soprano of all time. She is respected for the elegance of her voice as well as her captivating stage presence. Despite being a remarkable performer, she was fired from the production of Ariadne Auf Naxos because she was too big to fit into the black cocktail dress they intended for the character. With her weight ballooning, she became anxious about her health and agreed to undergo a procedure that would reduce her stomach’s capacity.

She underwent surgery in New York in 2005 and has lost 100 pounds since then. The transformation certainly has been life-changing and it got her back to The Royal Opera House to star in the role she was fired from. She can finally sleek into that little black dress. To her credit, she seems to have successfully kept the weight off.
